Spencer Pond Camps - Cabin Rental Rates & Policies -

A Family Vacation that is Different!

Cabin rental includes – fully furnished housekeeping cabin, canoe, kayaks, mountain bikes, all linens, seasoned dry firewood, plus an authentic remote wilderness experience!  Many people are enjoying the experience of getting closer to the basic things of life. This we encourage. There is no telephone, wi-fi hookup or electricity from a loud generator running late into the evening to jar your nerves.  Cell phone coverage is sporadic at best. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere.  Please read our accomodations page for complete details

  • Canoes/Kayaks are included at no additional charge, however we do require all individuals to wear a life jacket when using our boats, no exceptions, if you prefer not to wear a life jacket our canoes/kayaks are not available for use. We have life jackets here for all sizes and ages so you should not need to bring one. We also ask that any children under the age of 12 that are on our docks wear a life jacket.
  •         Well behaved dogs and hunting dogs are allowed (small fee applies). Dogs must remain in compliance with Maine’s Leash Law at all times (unless hunting) &  remain leashed while in the campyard – no exceptions. Dog owners are expected to clean up after their pets if they do their business in the mowed camp yard, trails, or driveway. Shovels and trowels are available for such tasks, please ask. Other pets may be accepted. Please inquire in advance regarding other pets. Dogs should not be left unsupervised and/or tied out beside the cabins.

    ·         We do not provide Wi-Fi or internet service. We encourage guests to respect our electronic free camp yard zone which starts in the parking lot. We do not have electricity. Portable Electronic devices/laptops when used sparingly should be kept inside the cabins with low volumes so they cannot be heard outside of the cabin walls. Cell phone and blackberry ringers should be set to vibrate or turned off when in the campground. We feel this enhances the atmosphere we are trying to create of solitude and escape away from mainstream pressures and life.

    ·         For all of our guests protection,  the camps/cabins are for paid, registered guests.  Day visitors are allowed only with our prior approval.  We do reserve the right to limit the number of  visitors in a cabin.  Visitors of our guests should leave their vehicles in the parking lot and sign in at the office immediately upon arrival. We have a cart available that can be borrowed if they have heavy items they need to unload.

    ·         Quiet Time: We ask that all guests begin winding down as it grows dark. Absolute quiet is requested at 10 pm

    ·         Recycling garbage and composting kitchen waste in the cabins is mandatory. Please read the information posted in the cabins or ask us if you have questions.

    ·         We encourage a carry in carry out policy for all your outdoor excursions away from the campground. Help keep Maine clean, no littering.  We ask that guests that find litter/cans along our road or trails help us by picking them up, unfortunately not all two legged creatures are as respectful of the North Woods as our guests.

    ·         No motorized boats over 10 hp are allowed to launch in the pond. Jet skis and towing items prohibited.

    ·         We strive for a family friendly atmosphere; because of this alcoholic beverages are allowed inside the cabins and porches only.  You are welcome to drink and be merry inside the cabins, as long as you do not disturb other guests.  We have a zero tolerance policy for illegal drug use.

    ·         Smokers are welcome. However, smoking is discouraged in outdoor/indoor areas of the facility where children may be present. We also ask that you do not smoke inside the cabins. Cigarette butts should be put out and placed in your pocket for proper disposal, not thrown in the woods or in the campyard.

    ·         Loud, aggressive or unruly behavior  will not be tolerated of guests or dogs and the offending parties will be asked to leave and will be responsible to pay in full for their scheduled stay.

    ·         No tenting or RV camping.

    ·         Guests should only use the outhouse assigned to their cabin. These are housekeeping cabins, which means that they do not receive daily turndown or cleaning service.  For extended stays we gladly provide you with extra linens if needed. Upon departure Cabins should be left as they are found, neat and tidy, dishes washed and put away neatly, floors swept, and beds that have been slept in should be stripped or left unmade.

    ·        For your safety and the safety of the wild flora and fauna children and dogs should not be left unattended in cabins or in the campground.f needed we will provide contacts for local baby or dog sitters who can provide care while parents take a breather I
